TR-143 Network Speed Test
Telco regulators across the globe require that ISPs and Telco providers demonstrate and meet their advertised internet speed. If a customer’s plan is a speed of Mbps for example, they should be able to experience this exact rate when accessing the web as an end user. To guarantee compliance with regulations, ISPs and Telecom companies must measure network speeds on a monthly basis throughout all CPE base (Consumer Premise Equipment) points – ultimately creating evidence of stability which can then be submitted to officials.
There are top-tier solutions that monitor network performance by utilizing proprietary firmware and agents, often very costly to implement. However, with the TR-143 protocol – which a great range of routers are compatible with – ISPs and Telcos can achieve similar results for a fraction of the price: consequently saving a significant amount of money in annual costs.
